The Nichomus Run Solar Farm will provide substantial local benefit to the community. Estimated tax revenue from the facility is expected to be more than $900,000 annually or $29,000,000 over the expected 30-year project life.

Tax Revenue
This revenue will flow to the involved tax jurisdictions, town, county, school district with little or no offsetting service burden.  No increased traffic, no school burden, no infrastructure burden

Jobs
The project will support 200-300 construction jobs and 3-5 long-term, full-time operational phase jobs.

Economic Activity
During construction, it is estimated that the project will generate approximately $10,000,000 in local economic activity including lodging, restaurant, service, material and equipment purchases.  


Continued Agricultural Use
Pilesgrove Township strongly values the use of traditional farmland for continued agricultural purpose.  The Nichomus Run Solar Farm provides the opportunity for the site remain in agricultural use with the planned integration of a sheep grazing operation.  The project will support the rotational grazing of a thousand or more sheep within the fenced panel areas.  The panels provide shade for the animals and also enhance moisture retention.  Rotational grazing build soil health without additional fertilizer and reduces the need for mechanical mowing.
